Southern Clay Products Increases Prices
on Select Additives for Paints and Coatings
GONZALES, TX (June 1, 2010) – Effective July 1, 2010 or as agreements allow, Southern Clay Products, Inc. will increase prices for its paint and coatings additives in the Americas 5% to 9%. This includes Claytone® and Tixogel® organoclays for solvent-based coatings and off schedule prices for Optiflo® and Optigel® additives used in waterborne applications.
“Raw materials costs continue to escalate, compounded by strong market demand,” explained Don Poucher, Southern Clay Products vice president of sales and marketing. “It is a difficult decision, but we feel we must increase our prices to maintain the level of service upon which our customers depend — and to enable us to continue to invest in the research and development of new products and applications that are the hallmarks of a strong and healthy company.”
