Our commitment starts at the top with a clear set of expectations embodied within the corporate SHE policies. The Safety and Health Policy commits us to take practical steps towards eliminating work and product related accidents, injuries and health effects. Our Environmental Policy commits us to limit the effects of our activities on the environment whenever possible.

We believe that achieving these basic principles are necessary to the long-term viability of Rockwood Holdings. Sustainable organizations practice product and environmental stewardship and recognize that employee safety and health is a crucial success factor. Therefore, we have established the following long-term strategic SHE goals to guide our activities:

In line with these goals, Rockwood Holdings has developed a framework for SHE management that helps site managers develop and maintain effective local SHE management systems. Throughout the organization our employees are committed and involved in SHE efforts that promote improvement in SHE performance. The Group monitors this performance on a continuing basis.
