Sachtleben is a leading producer of specialty grade titanium dioxide (TiO2) pigments, the world leader in barium sulfate and zinc-based functional additives and the industry's top producer of polyaluminum chloride (PAC) flocculants.
Titanium Dioxide
Sachtleben produces both anatase- and rutile-based TiO2 pigments for use in synthetic fibers, plastics, paints, coatings, life sciences, print and paper industries. Its anatase pigments, sold under the brand name Hombitan, are the number one TiO2 pigment for use in synthetic fibers in the world.
Functional Additives
Sachtleben's barium sulfate and zinc-based specialties are used to improve the appearance and performance of coatings, plastics, colorants, lubricants, PVC stabilizers, thermoplastics, fibers and paper. In addition, its X-Ray-grade barium sulfate is used as a contrast agent in medical applications.
Water Chemistry
Sachtleben's PAC-based flocculants help improve water purity for public, industrial and swimming pool applications.
Sachtleben operates an integrated facility in Duisburg, Germany. Sachtleben has achieved certification to the standards of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Qualitätssicherung for the development, production and marketing of white pigments and extenders, water chemicals and sulfuric acid plant products (DIN EN ISO Certificate 9001, 14001 und 22000).
