Chemetall Lithium and Fine Chemicals
Chemetall Lithium and Fine Chemicals is the world's leading manufacturer of lithium-based compounds and an innovative developer of metal-based fine chemicals for use in specialty applications.
Chemetall's lithium-based compounds are used in a variety of high growth applications, including base chemicals for numerous industries, drug intermediates, elastomers for car tires and rubber soles, lithium batteries, thermoplastic materials and high performance greases. Chemetall has lithium production facilities in the United States, Chile, Germany and Taiwan.
Through its Fine Chemicals business, Chemetall develops metal-based chemicals, including metal sulphides, cesium and other special metal products used in chemical processes, in the automotive industry and in many other applications. Chemetall has a special metals facility at Langelsheim, Germany, and a metal sulphide plant at Arnoldstein, Austria.

Chemetall Surface Treatment
Chemetall Surface Treatment is the world's second largest supplier of metal surface treatment products and services. Chemetall Surface Treatment supplies more than 5,000 products for the chemical pre-treatment of metals. Many of its products are based on proprietary formulations and extensive application know-how.
Chemical Surface Treatment products are used in the automotive, steel, metalworking and aerospace industries. Applications include protecting metals from corrosion, facilitating forming and machining, and allowing metal parts to be processed in a clean and grease-free environment for good coating adhesion.
Chemetall Surface Treatment has an extensive worldwide production, sales and service network with approximately 30 subsidiaries or joint ventures and a great number of licensees. Based in Germany, Chemetall Surface Treatment operates large-scale production facilities in Goslar; Sens, France; Giussano, Italy and Romulus, Michigan. Research centers are located at Frankfurt and in the United States. Chemetall Surface Treatment also maintains a technical partnership in Japan. Chemetall Surface Treatment facilities comply with international standards, including ISO.
